SKAGERAK EXHIBITS IN STOCKHOLM WITH SPECIALLY DESIGNED STAND
Skagerak exhibits at this year’s Stockholm Furniture Fair with a specially designed stand. The 168-square-metre stand was created by Christina Liljenberg Halstrøm, who is also the designer behind the Georg collection. Christina decorated the two large back walls of the stand in cooperation with photographer Erika Svensson, who interprets weather phenomena in beautiful black/white photos resembling watercolours. At the centre of the stand, a minimalist pavilion showcases indoor furniture, including the Georg series, Push and Do.
Surrounding the pavilion is a selection of Skagerak’s new and classic outdoor furniture, including the brand-new designs Flux, Float and Tradition. Tradition is a flexible sofa design by Povl Eskildsen, whose Riviera sunbed has its 25th anniversary this year. Povl Eskildsen has also expanded the Riviera collection with a new multi-purpose lounge module that serves as a chair, a table, a bed or a sofa. Flux is a narrow chair and table, perfect for small patios and yards, and New York’s rooftop terraces inspired Float, with its informal lounge feel and large, comfy cushions.
The overall expression of the stand, in true Christina Liljenberg Halstrøm style, is graphic, inviting and tactile with an uncluttered look, where the warm wood and high quality of the furniture interact with simple green plants that contribute to the clean and natural feel. The stand is big enough to allow visitors to walk around the furniture and try it out.
We hope that you will stop by. On 3 February, Christina Liljenberg Halstrøm gives a design talk at 11.00 and again at 13.00, speaking about the story behind the Georg collection and the design of the stand. The following day, on 4 February, Christina is again present at the stand, available for interviews and questions. Here, you can also meet the owners of Skagerak, Vibeke and Jesper Panduro.
