Proper usage and maintenance
Proper usage and maintenance is vital for getting the most out of the valuable resources we have. Our designs are made to last for generations, but just like everything else, they need a little care to get there.
Barriere is our own range of Oeko-Tex certified and solution-dyed acrylic fabrics used for upholstering our cushions and pillows. The acrylic fibre we use is a synthetic but cotton-like fabric with world-class features for outdoor usage, making it:
- Extremely colour and lightfast
- Water and dirt repellent
- Free from harmful substances
- Removable and machine washable at 30° C.
Wipe the fabric with a firmly wrung cloth. In case of more obstinate stains, remove the upholstery and machine wash it at 30° C.
If the fabric is exposed to heavy rain, we recommend that you take it off and dry it separately with the filling.
Dryfast open-cell foam has an open cellulite structure which allows both water and air to pass through freely. This makes the cushion dry exceptionally quickly – even after being soaking wet – with little to no need of maintenance. Moreover, the foam provides a firm and comfortable texture which remains the same year after year.
Another type of foam is being used for the US/UK market.
